The Australian’s call it Walkabout, a chance to escape from the routine, heading into the empty wilderness to empty the body and soul of built up trash, we call it FLAT OUT.

Using the simplest and cleanest form of transport, a Track bike. Four cyclists, meet at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, to embark on a journey into extreme terrain during dangerous summer conditions, riding a massive 1200km of road in only ten days to the city of Melbourne. The question is… did they make it?

Riders:
Patrick Seabase / Switzerland / Fixed gear Switzerland / Gorilla Bicycles / Bicycle Film Festival
Pierre Emm aka Le Lama / France / Art Professor at the High school of Fine Arts Paris / Polo Player / Free Rider:
Henrik “Artoo” Kuerschner / Germany / CTRS member / Creative

Livery Design Gruppe made an appearance at this years ASR (Action Sports Retail Show). As a kid who grew up in the skateboarding industry and who has been to ASR a few times, I can tell you how bad-ass this is for the fixed gear industry. More info and photos here.

Livery Design Gruppe’s Mini Fixed Gear bikes in brushed finish. When out, these will come in 2 different frame designs and in 10 wild colors. Both frames are manufactured with Reynolds Tubing and will be sold as completes. These bikes will be a ground up frame and component offering.

LDG claims this will be the most insane complete mini fixed gear ever built and they just might be right.  Anyone who knows me, knows I’m a sucker for lugged frame construction. And judging by these previews, I might just fall in love with this thing. I mean, look at those lugs, and the drilled drops are a really nice touch.

Details and specs here.

Check out what a good dose of winter riding in Boston will do to a bike. Independent Fabrication’s stainless frame has held up really well, the steel coomponents are a different story.
